Adam Cella was a member of Team Jones on the 17th season of The Ultimate Fighter. Cella won his way into the house with a 1st round armbar victory over Jake Huen. Adam was Team Jones' 6th round pick. In the 2nd episode Adam was selected to fight Team Sonnen 2nd pick Uriah Hall in the 2nd fight of the season.


In the fight with Uriah Hall Cella looked good during the first round coming forward with his strikes at the 10-second clap Uriah Hall threw a spinning back kick that landed on Cella's chin knocking him unconscious. Cella was out for 4 minutes and was taken to the hospital afterwards. Cella would still get another shot at the UFC when he fought Tor Troeng on The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.  He was submitted in the first round and it was later announced that he was cut from the promotion.
