Kiyotaka Shimizu Wiki

Kiyaotaka Shimizu is a Japanese mixed martial artist currently competing in the flyweight division. He is the Super Flyweight (125 lbs.) King of Pancrase.

 

After going 1-4-1, Shimizu participated in the Pancrase 2009 Flyweight Neo Blood Tournament, defeating 3 opponents on his way to claiming the title. Shimizu later won a fight under Pancrase and had a loss under Shooto before he faced future rival Mitsuhisa Sunabe for the Flyweight King of Pancrase title, which he claimed be defeating Sunabe via majority decision. In his next fight he defended the title against Isao Hirose, defeating Hirose via TKO in the second round. In his third defense Shimizu would rematch Sunabe, this time fighting to a draw and retaining his title.

 

Shimizu would go 2-0 outside the promotion before defending his title for a third time against Sunabe. Once again Shimizu defeated Sunabe via majority decision and soon after Pancrase changed the division name to super flyweight. After a loss in Shooto Sunabe defended his title against Seiji Ozuka, fighting to a draw to retain his title. After going 1-1 in Shooto Shimizu returned to take on his next challenger in Yuki Yasunaga. Shimizu defeated Yasunaga via KO in the third to retain his title.
